Weight Loss Smoothie Bowl


Smoothie bowls are a great way to lose weight when incorporated into a healthy diet plan. Smoothie bowls are simply smoothies blended with a thicker consistency than the regular drinkable varieties with toppings added for texture and tasty goodness in every bite. The added toppings help with feeling full or satisfied due to the chewing, which activates digestive enzymes that signal the brain that you have eaten a meal, thus increasing the feeling of satiety or satisfaction.

Ingredients:

Smoothie Bowl Base

  • 1 banana sliced & divided

  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries

  • 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened milk of your choice

Toppings- about 1 tbsp each:

  • shredded coconut to garnish

  • Homemade granola (recipe on my website in the BLOG section)

  • Stevia Sweetened Dark Chocolate Chips (Lily's Brand is very good)

  • Toasted Coconut

  • Fresh berries

  • Flax, chia, or hemp seeds


Instructions:

  1. Put the milk, Greek yogurt, mixed berries, and half of the banana into a blender and blend until thoroughly combined.

  2. Place into a bowl and garnish with the remaining ingredients.

  3. Enjoy!
